Z -- FY99 STRIKE REMOVAL AT DULUTH SUPERIOR HARBOR SOL DACW35-98-C-0023 DUE 080799 POC Bill Bruss, (313)226-3648 The Corps of Engineers intends to negotiate under the existing contract DACW35-98-C-0023 a modification with Marine Tech of Duluth Inc. 4743 Rice Lake Road, Duluth, MN 55803. The Corps of Egineers believes Marine Tech is the only source capable of providing the required dredging in a timely manner. The circumstances permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition is FAR 6.301-2, "Only One Responsible Source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". The period of performance is expected to be from date of award through 30 September 1999. All interested parties who believe they can provide the required services should fully explain their capabilities and qualifications in writing within 15 days from the date of this notice. This is considered to be sole source because the equipment is already on site and it would not be practical to substitute different equipment due to the expense and delays involved and the fact that this equipment is configured to work in conjunction with other equipment already at the Superior Channel.
