modifications to the existing Headquarters Building at the Union Slough
National Wildlife Refuge. These additions and modifications are needed
to rehabilitate the Headquarters Building in order to reduce energy
usage and to assure accessibility compliance with the Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA). The work will include conversion of 1632 square
feet of unfinished interior space to finished office space and
rehabilitate an additional 1248 square feet of existing finished
spaces. For the purpose of clarity, these spaces shall be referred to
as the "New Addition" and "Original Building" respectively. This
project shall include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, rough and finish
carpentry, concrete work, insulation, painting, and construction of
other descriptions. To minimize disruption to the function of the
Refuge Headquarters, the project shall proceed in two phases. In the
first phase, the interior of the New Addition shall be finished. In the
second phase, the interior of the Original Building shall be renovated.
Between the two phases, the Refuge Staff will move out of the Original
Building and into the New Addition. Other project tasks that do not
interfere with the activities of Headquarters' personnel may be
performed in either phase. The site of the proposed project is located
at the Union Slough NWR, approximately 40 miles southwest of Albert
Lea, MN, 16 miles north-northeast of Algona, IA. 2. SIC 1542, size
standard $17Million. 3. This Invitation For Bid (IFB) will be issued on
08/12/99. 4. The magnatude of this project is between $100,000 and
