Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service (FMS) has a
requirement to provide check trays. Deliverables shall include 1500 of
the following items,these are the dimensions. The dimensions of the
trays are very critical. Sample trays will be provided and should be
used to give the vendor the exact specifications. The dimensions listed
below are to be used only as general guidelines. The sides of the tray
are 3 inches high, but are 4 inches high at the front and back ends.
The front and back ends are curved to serve as handles when being
lifted from the shelves.this curved feature also serves to cradle the
trays on the shelves when they are empty and in an inverted postion,
thus preventing them from sliding off the shelves. Length of bottom 23
inches, length of top 25 inches,Width 8 inches,Height (body/sides) 3
inches,Height (end/handle) 4 inches Material: The material for these
trays can be at the vendor's discretion as long as it meets the
following requirements.The life expectancy for these trays should be a
minimum of 10 years. These trays should be durable and able to
withstand rough handling. The material should be highly impact
resistant so as not to break,shatter, or crack during heavy usage. The
maximum weight for these trays should not exceed 2 pounds 10 ounces.
The color is black Construction: There is a recessed channel that runs
lengthwise in the center of the tray.There should be an adjustable
metal compressor plate that runs the length of the tray bottom. This
compressor plate is required to accommodate different quantities of
checks being transported in the tray. The compressor plate should also
be constructed as closely as possible to the provided sample. The
replacement trays should be manufactured to be as close to the sample
trays as possible.It is critical that the dimensions of the check trays
be the same as those of the sample trays.. The new trays are required
to hold checks of these specific dimensions to fit on check carts that
are currently in use. Upon delivery of the product the Philadelphia
Financial Center will assume ownership of the mold used for
construction of these trays. The molding will become property of U.S.
Treasury Dept. Each bid package shall contain the following mandatory

An Offeror who checks "has not" may not be awarded a contract until the

or nothing, which includes the check trays and the MOLD. All interested

NOTE; Contact Ed Scheinder 215-516-8053 no later than 5 days after
initial notice to have samples of check tray mailed out. No inquiries
will be addressed after 2pm on the 5-day of sending samples out. The
evaluation factor for the bid is technically acceptable lowest
price.Bid must be received no later than 2pm August 12, 1999. Period of
performance 90 days after award is made plus ten year warranty on check
