for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations
are being requested and a written solicitation WILL NOT be issued. The
solicitation number is 301819Q246 for this Request for Quotation
(RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-45.
Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be followed. Standard Industrial
Classification code 5032 applies. A firm fixed price contract will be
awarded. All responsible sources may submit a quote for consideration.
No.1 -- Tailgate Spread, Quantity 2,500 tons. I-1 Gravel, Crushed
Grade 23A delivered to and tailgate spread on 3.4 miles. FOB:
Destination Seney National Wildlife Refuge, HCR #2, Box 1, Seney,
Michigan 49883. Delivery completed by September 15, 1999. Deliveries to
be coordinated with Refuge Manager allowing 24 hour lead time.
Materials Specifications Aggregate shall meet the requirements of
Michigan DOT 1990 Standard Specification for Construction Section 8.02
Aggregates. Material shall meet the following gradation for Type 23A
coarse aggregate. Sieve Analysis Total Percent Passing Sieve Size
Percent Passing 1" 100 3/8" 60-85 No. 8 25-60 Loss by washing % 9-16
Approved weight tickets indicating gross, tare, and net weight and date
of delivery shall be furnished to the Government Inspector at the time
of delivery to the job site. Material delivered without weight tickets
and/or weight tickets submitted subsequent to material delivery will be
rejected for payment. The Government may require testing to assure that
the aggregate meets the requirements specified herein. All deliveries
shall be made between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday except on National Holidays, unless other arrangements
are made with the Refuge Manager. The following clausesand provisions
apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors
-Commercial; 52.212-2, Evaluation Commercial Items; 52.212-3, Offeror
Represent and Certifications-Commercial Items (copy to be included with
Offer); 52.212-4, Contract Terms and conditions Commercial Items;
