This announcement is to provide offerors advance notification of our intentions and seeking responses to the Market Investigation and comments on the Purchase Description (PD), which will be posted to the Heavy Loader homepage by close of business Aug 3, 1999. All responses and comments must be received no later than close of business Aug 30, 1999. Description of loaders: The loader shall classified as a Type I and Type II loader. Both loaders are defined as scoop type, pneumatic tire, four wheel drive, articulated frame steer and diesel engine driven. Type I is equipped with a 4.5 cubic yard minimum capacity rock bucket. The Type II is equipped with a 5.0 cubic yard minimum capacity general-purpose bucket. The loader shall be able travel at a minimum speed of 20 MPH, be of heavy duty construction, complete with all necessary operating accessories and attachments necessary to enable it to function reliably and efficiently in sustained operation. The loader is intended for excavating, and digging involved with military construction of roads, bridges, airfields, medical facilities, protective shelters, demolition of structures, as well as loading in quarry operations. We intend on issuing a five-year requirement contract for the production of approximately 250 loaders (quantity subject to change).
