the continued operation of the Clearfield Job Corps Center located at
20 West 1700 South (Antelope Drive), Clearfield, Utah 84016-0070, will
be available approximately August 4, 1999, for issue in response to
written requests. It is anticipated that the resultant contract will
cover the period April 1, 2000 through March 31, 2002, plus three
performance based options of one year each. The Center design capacity
is 1,320 students (980 residential males and 320 residential females;
10 non-residential males and 10 non-residential females). Job Corps is
a residential training program for economically disadvantaged youth,
between the ages of 16-24. The contractor shall provide academic and
vocational training; operate a counseling and residential living
program and provide the following support services: Health Services,
Processing of Student Records, Discipline System, Clothing Issue, Mail
Services and Legal Services. The contractor will also provide overall
center management and administration, staff training, financial
management, procurement and property management, financial operations
and maintenance, security and safety services, community relations and
public information. All activities will be in compliance with
applicable DOL/Job Corps regulations, policies and handbooks. A
pre-proposal conference will be convened at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
August 17, 1999, at the Layton Holiday Inn Express, 1695 Woodland Park
Drive, Layton, Utah 84041, phone number 801-773-3773. Following the
pre-proposal conference, there will be a tour of the facility. Upon
entering the facility, tour participants must report and register at
the front entrance lobby. Attendees will be responsible for their own
transportation. All questions prior to the pre-proposal conference
should be submitted in writing. Proposals in response to this RFP will
be due no later than 2:00 p.m. central time on October 4, 1999, Region
VII/VIII, City Center Square, Suite 1000, 1100 Main Street, Kansas
