The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to award Purchase Orders to General Dynamics Land Systems, Warren, MI 48090-2074 and United Defense, L.P., York, PA 17405-1512 for studies that will identify approaches for improving the system performance of the Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge (AVLB) regarding mobility, reliability, readiness, and logistics supportability. Performance improvements are needed to enable the AVLB to keep pace with modern armored/mechanized forces for which it supports.
