(WSI) operates the Nonproliferation and National Security Institute (NNSI) in Albuquerque, New Mexico under contract to the Department of Energy. WSI is seeking sources to upgrade or replace the interactive student response portion of the interactive television (ITV) broadcast system at the NNSI. The ITV system is one-way video signal distributed via satellite plus the student response portion which is a two-way terrestrial capability that enables communication of voice and data in real time with participants at multiple locations anywhere in the world. The proposed system will upgrade or replace the currently installed ONE TOUCH (Registered TM) system without significant loss of existing features. WSI anticipates the solicitation to be issued approximately 1 September, with a site survey and bidders conference within two weeks. The proposal will be due 30 days after the site survey with award expected by mid October 1999. The system must be installed, tested, and fully operational by 31 December 1999.
