all labor, material, and equipment necessary to repair the E&A
Facility 1733 HVAC system, renovate the restrooms, and replace the
portions of the lay-in ceiling systems. Contractor is requested to
submit two bids, one for Option A and one for Option B. Option A:
Demolish existing HVAC equipment and replace HVAC system components,
including the four air handlers, the chiller, the chilled water pump
and portions of the piping. The new system shall include two (2) air
cooled scroll type chillers and two (2) circulating pumps and VAV boxes
with duct heaters. Return air ducting will be added. A DDC control
system will also be included in the new system. Option B: Same as
Option A, with the exception that government will provide, install and
commission DDC controls. Contractor will install government provided
chilled water controlled valves, and government will assist contractor
to balance the HVAC system. Remove existing equipment maintenance
concrete slabs and install new concrete slabs for newHVAC equipment.
Demolish electrical service to existing HVAC equipment. Provide
electrical service to all new HVAC equipment. Provide and install 2 new
padmounted transformers. Modify and test fire alarm system. Cut
openings in gypsum walls (joint compound contains asbestos) to route
new duct. Patch holes around after duct is in place. Remove existing
ceiling and replace with a new suspended acoustical ceiling system.
Repair floor and wall tile at locations of fixture demolition and
installation. Repair, prime and paint various wall surfaces as shown.
Repair loose wall covering as shown. Remove and install various
bathroom fixtures as shown. Period of performance is 210 calendar days
after Notice to Proceed is issued. Solicitation issue date of 16 Aug
99 and offer due date of 15 Sep 99 are tentative. The applicable SIC
Code and size standard for this acquisition are 1711/$7M. The estimated
range of this project is between $500K and $1M. The solicitation is
unrestricted. A $25 nonrefundable fee is required for each copy of the
solicitation. Faxed requests for the solicitation will be accepted,

issued. Only business/certified/cashier checks or money orders will be
