Materiel Command Acquisition Center-Natick Contracting Division has a
requirement to construct an addition to the Treatability Study Building
#94 at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA. The contractor
will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, supplies, and
equipment to construct this addition. The project consists of the
construction of a pre-engineered metal building addition, reinforced
concrete foundation, and site utilities which includes potable water
line and sanitary sewer line with pumping station. Work also includes
the installation of metal stud and gypsum wallboard walls, suspended
ceiling systems, steel doors and frames, floor finishes, painting,
plumbing fixtures, laboratory type base cabinets, fume hood, HVAC
system, electrical receptacles and light fixtures, telephone jacks,
local area network data jacks, and fire alarm. The contractor shall
possess all Federal, State and Local licenses/permits/certifications
that would be required to perform all required services and shall
comply with all Federal, State, and Local regulations, codes and
statutes in the performance of this work. The Standard Industrial Code
for this procurement is 1542. The Small Business Size Standard is
$17.0 million. This procurement is 100% set-aside for Small Business
Concerns. The Government envisions the use of a Firm Fixed Price
contract. In accordance with FAR 36.204 the magnitude of this project
is between $250,000 and $500,000. A site visit will be held within 7-10
working days after the release of the solicitation. Depending on demand
a second site visit may be schedule 10 days before the day proposals
are due. This solicitation will be conducted under FAR Part 15
Contracting by Negotiation. This requirement is subject to the
Davis-Bacon Act. Copies of the solicitation, technical specifications,
drawings, and the applicable Wage Determination will be made available
only through our website. The solicitation will be available on the Web
Page on or about August 13, 1999. Thetechnical specifications will be
available prior to the release of the solicitation and should be
available no later than July 30, 1999. No hard copies of the
