MANAGED CARE SUPPORT SERVICES The following information updates prior special notice issued. TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) is approaching the release of the next generation of Managed Care Support contracts. Industry representatives, along with TRICARE beneficiary organizations, were instrumental in the development of the initial request for proposal (RFP) approximately one year ago. The program has changed since that time. The next generation of Managed Care Support contracts will be performance based, allowing offerors to propose their best practices in the delivery of health care and administrative services to TRICARE beneficiaries and Military Treatment Facility Commanders. This synopsis serves as notice that an updated DRAFT RFP has been on the web for comment. TMA has revised the DRAFT RFP and continues to solicit comments from all sources. Interested parties are encouraged to review the documents and submit comments to the TMA forum located on the TRICARE web site. Instructions to get to the RFP are as follow: 1) Go to: http://www.tricare.osd.mil/ 2) Open drop down menu and select "Contracting" and select "GO". 3) Find "What's New" on the contracting page. Select "Solicitations". 4) Mid-page are the various editions of the Draft RFP. Select the most recent draft. The various section to the RFP are listed as well as exhibits and attachments. Midway down the left column under Comments is "Managed Care Forum". Click on this hyperlink and it will take you to the forum for comments. If you are not currently registered -- please do so. On the bottom of this site is a section called Managed Care Support 3.0 Forum. Select "Draft RFP Comments" and enter this discussion thread. After reading the paragraphs at the top of this page, there is a site map showing the comments already posted on the thread. At the bottom of the sitemap, there is a hyperlink that says "Post new messages in this thread". Click on this hyperlink to get message box. Fill in applicable blocks and provide comments. Send message by clicking on the "POST" button at the bottom of the screen. If you are reviewing the RFP, please send a message indicating so. If you wish, you may include "DO NOT POST" on the top of the comment block. This message will indicate to TMA the number of individuals reviewing the RFP.
