The Naval Air Systems Command proposes to procure retrofit kits to improve the J52 engine in accordance with Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 95XA013. The quantity will be approximately 48 kits. The kit will provide a design improvement to the Pressure Ratio Control Part Number 110220A3 used on the J52-P-408A engine. Chandler Evan Control Systems Division of Coltec Industries is the sole designer and manufacturer of the Pressure Ratio Control and is the only known source with sufficient data to manufacture these modification kits for the J52 series engines for the United States Navy and Foreign Military Sales. Negotiations are anticipated on a sole source basis with Chandler Evans Control Systems Divisons, Charter Oak Blvd., Box 330651, West Hartford, CT 06133, only known manufacturer.
