Notice is hereby provided of the Government's requirement to install zoned fire alarm systems for three Federal buildings located at Wellesley Island Border Station, Alexandria Bay, NY. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, equipment and supervision. Customs Building is 17,325 SF and includes manual and automatic initiating devices, audible visual and visual-only signaling devices, and zone annunciation. The Brokerage (3,350 SF) and Warehouse (2,930 SF) buildings shall send alarm and trouble signals to the Customs building fire alarm system as a dedicated zone of annunciation. The Customs Building shall send alarm and trouble signals off site to a remote receiving station. This procurement is open to competition among both large and small business concerns pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The magnitude of this construction project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Classification code is 1731and the small business size standard is $7.0 million. The performance period shall not exceed 10 weeks commencing one day after the notice to proceed. Alternate payment protection (payment bonds or irrevocable letter of credit) will be required upon award. The Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued tentatively on August 12, 1999. The RFQ due date is tentatively August 24, 1999. All responsible sources may submit a quotation that will be considered by the agency. All requests for the RFQ should be written, facsimile, or e-mail. Contractors are requested to provide a street address as drawings and specifications cannot be delivered to a post office box.
