The United States Agency for International Development acting through USAID mission to Egypt requests applications for assistance to design, implement and evaluate a series of interventions to improve girls' access to schools and improve the quality of the education provided by those schools in target areas based upon the results of the area assessments. The program will have three main components: 1) school construction; 2) improvement of quality of education offered in the new schools and 3) increased community participation in girls' education. The USG cost estimate for this activity is approximately $28 million over a period of approximately four years. The preferred method of distribution of USAID procurement information is via the Internet or by request of an application on a 3.5" floppy disk (Word). This CBD Notice can be viewed and downloaded using the Agency web site. The Request for an Application (RFA), once issued, can be downloaded from the Agency web site. The Worldwide Web address is http://www.info.usaid.gov. Select "Business and Procurement Opportunities" from the home page, then "USAID Procurements". On the following screen, select "Download Available USAID solicitations". Receipt of this RFA through INTERNET must be confirmed by written notification to the contact person noted above. This will allow USAID to distribute any clarifications or revisions to the RFA to interested parties.
