The potential contract contains a base year and four unilaterally exercised option years, which creates the possibility for a five year contract. The government is not obligated in any manner to exercise any of the option years. The base year will begin approximately in October 1999 and end September 30, 2000. The contractor would provide all containers, equipment and labor to remove all solid waste at the institution pursuant to all Environmental Protection Agency, state and local regulations. The container sizes and estimated number of pick ups are as follows: a roll on/off compactor, minimum thirty (30) cubic yard container, with a minimum pick up of one time per week; a thirty (30) cubic yard open container, with an estimated pick up of one time per month; and a six (6) yard rear dump container, with an estimated pick up of three times per week. The contractor will be responsible for all licenses, permits and fees related to the trash removal. This procurement is unrestricted, open to both small and other than small businesses.
