SOL WASC9-1333 DUE 080699 POC Randall Brown (206) 526-6226/FAX (206) 526-6025 Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Pacific Marine States Fisheries Commission (PSMFC) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of contract is to assist the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) in developing a strategic plan for management of groundfish fishery. Sole source authority is Sec. 402(d) of the Magnuson-Stevens Act which states that Dept. of Commerce may contact on a sole-source basis to Marine Fisheries Commission for information collection and other programs. Development of the strategic plan for groundfish management directly supports the fulfillment of requirements mandated by the Magnuson-Stevens Act.
