ANNOUNCEMENT) SOL BAA NO. 01-99 DUE 090199 POC Danielle Buser
301-342-1825 x151 E-MAIL: Click here to contact the contracts POC for
this BAA, buserda@navair.navy.mil. This is amendment #2 to Broad Agency
Announcement # 01-99 dated 01 September 1998 for the augmentation of
mission performance operational capabilities, and improve the
affordability of Naval Air Vehicles. This amendment refers back to the
Guide to Naval Aircraft Propulsion and Power Technology Development
Programs for Fiscal Year 1999 and is found in part 903, Health
Monitoring and Diagnostics Technology, at:
http://www.navair.navy.mil/air20/air214/index.cfm. REMINDER: Proposals
for this BAA must be received no later than 01 September 1999. The
technologies may include eddy current technologies that can reduce life
cycle cost, improve safety of flight and increase readiness of fleet
gas turbine engines. This activity is in support of the U.S. Navy
Engine Component Improvement Program Eddy Current Sensor (ECS)
development effort. Primary areas of interest are: systems utilizing
eddy current technologies to perform real time in-flight measurements
of rotor and blade characteristics, and both static anddynamic
measurement of critical engine hardware during ground based maintenance
operations. Types of failure modes to be detected but not limited to
are cracking, erosion, vibration, rubbing, FOD etc. Responses must be
limited to systems capable of being prototype tested for field
application within 24 months of program initiation. Posted 07/13/99
