E-MAIL: Click Here to E-mail the POC, DilustroS@hanscom.af.mil. An ID/IQ contract was awarded to Ortel Corporation, Alhambra, CA, for delivery of the System 8000 Interfacility Link (IFL). The contract consists of: 8000A Mainframes/Chassis, to include redundant power supplies, status and control module, and operating manual; 8860A X-band receivers; 8850A X-band transmitters; 8501A Data Link Modules. This equipment will allow the user to remote an antenna up to 15km from an Earth Station in the X-band. ESC/MC intents to modify this contract to add 70/140 MHz transmitters and receivers, Ortel models 8603A and 8604A respectively, which are able to work alongside the X-band modules in the System 8000. The maximum quantity for each is 400 units. The 70/140 MHz modules must have a minimum drive range of at least 10km and must function as either fully redundant or non-redundant links. The RF I/O must be a N-type 50 ohm connector. The fiber connection must be FC/APC with 1310 nm singlemode fiber. The system must provide unity gain with no automatic gain control. The Government intends to modify the contract with Ortel sole source, pursuant to authority described at FAR 6.302-1(a). However, if any other source believes it can fulfill the above requirements, it must identify its interest and capability to ESC/MCK, 50 Griffiss Street, Hanscom AFB, MA 01731-1620, attention Mr. Stephen DiLustro within 10 days after publication of this announcement.
