The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, Florida intends to procure 50 each 166MHz CPU boards, Part Number MSP-P5S-32, from Advanced Digital Logic, 4411 Morena Boulevard, Suite 230, San Diego, CA 92117 on a sole source basis. These boards will be incorporated into the Shallow Water Mine Countermeasure (SWMCM) kit for Improved Piloting Performance (SKIPPER) subsystem of the Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) Autopilot program. Signficiant design and testing efforts have been expended on the development of the subsystem using this board. The duplication of effort that would be required to integrate and proof test another vendor's board into the SKIPPER subsystem at this point would greatly exceed any projected savings that might be realized through competition.
