S -- LOCAL GUARD SERVICE SOL S-LI600-99-R-1000 POC Jack Reedy, fax 231-226-148 or 231-226-147 The U.S. Embassy Monrovia, Liberia, intends to acquire on a sole source basis, the operation and management of local guard services in order to prevent unauthorized access, maintain order, protect life, deter criminal and terrorist attacks against employees, dependents, and property. Under this short-term interim contract, the contractor will provide all equipment, management, administration and direct labor personnel to accomplish all work as required in this contract. Services will be performed in Monrovia, Liberia. The solicitation is for one base year with one option period for twelve (12) additional months of performance at the option of the government. A sole source acquisition approach is considered necessary based on the Government's assessment of current country conditions. Sufficient stability to support a long-term competitive contract does not exist. However, should a firm want to express an interest in this short-term acquisition, it is requested to notify the Government's POC by fax, no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this synopsis.
