The Navy Center for Space Technology (NCST), at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Washington, DC is currently applying for approval of a Foreign Comparative Testing (FCT) Program. This FCT program is to test and evaluate non-developmental autonomous Star Tracker Systems for possible qualification for future Navy space research satellites. This CBD is part of a market survey to identify non-developmental autonomous star sensor systems. If approved, the government anticipates award by Purchase or Loan/Lease Agreement with vendor(s) whose product(s) meet the technical, physical and operational specifications to undergo laboratory test evaluation by NCST. The proposed system(s) must provide three axis attitude knowledge with an accuracy for pitch and yaw of at least 2 arc sec, and roll of at least 20 arc second (1 sigma). In addition, the system must have a radiation hardness to at least 100 krad, must operate in temperatures from -25 degrees C to +50 degrees C, have a mass weight not to exceed 3 kg (not including baffle), and power consumption not to exceed 15 watts. All sources are invited to provide technical information, unit cost of system, and description of customer base.
