and Space Administration (NASA), Office of Space Science is releasing
a NASA Research Announcement (NRA 98-OSS-04), The Preparatory Science
Program and the NStars Program for the Space Interferometry Mission.
This NRA solicits proposals for supporting basic research, analysis,
and technology whose objectives are long lead time scientific research
in support of the Space Interferometry Mission (SIM). In addition,
research programs, which might be of benefit to SIM are also being
solicited in support of the "Stars in the Solar Neighborhood" (NStars)
program. Participation is open to all categories of organizations,
foreign and domestic, including industry, educational institutions,
nonprofit organizations, NASA centers, and other Government agencies.
