The project includes work associated with restoration of wetlands involving excavations of materials from existing embankment dikes surrounding irrigation water re-use pits and drains. The excavated materials are required to partially fill the pits and drains. The pit and drain depths range from 0 to 4 feet. In addition, to provide for no net loss in water storage volumes in the wetland basin, shallow water wetlands are required to be excavated. The excavated materials will be required to be transported to upland areas. Tree clearing in the uplands area will be required to provide for boundary fence construction. Other minor work items include barbed wire fencing, construction of gravel surfaced parking lot and roadway access ramp.
