NOTICE OF INTENT: The 55th Contracting Office, Offutt AFB, NE, intends to award a sole-source procurement to Inrange Technologies Corporation of Mount Laurel, New Jersey, for the acquisition of the following: Computer, Pentium Platform w/17" monitor, Software, CC2 Board, Base Unit Switch Controller, Switch Controller Board and DC-4 Cables. This is a synopsis of intent to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR Part 12 -- Commercial Items, to the Inrange Technologies Corporation. No solicitation will be issued. The authority for sole-source procurement is 10 USC 2304(C)(1) and FAR 6.302-1. A market survey was conducted by the 55th Communications Squadron and no other manufacturers were found that can satisfy the government's requirement for the upgrade of matrix switch components for year 2000 compliance. This is not a request for quotation or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response hereto will not be honored or acknowledged. All timely responses will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not it is advantageous for the government to conduct a competitive procurement; no award will be made on the basis of any response to the notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon response to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government. The government will not pay for information submitted in response to this publication.
