Dittmer, dittmerl@ria.army.mil. This is a TACOM-ACALA Acquisition
Center action to procure Commercial Asset Visibility (CAVII) and
Storage Services. CAV is an asset accountability program designed to
allow transaction reporting, eliminate financial/inventory imbalances,
operate in a fully automated mode, and provide specific repairable
tracking and accountability of Army Fire Control assets stored at the
contractor's facility. CAV permits the ordering and shipment of
hardware directly from a contractor's facility. The proposed contract
action is for CAV and storage services for which the Government intends
to solicit and negotiate with Seiler Instrument and Manufacturing
Company, Incorporated of St. Louis, MO under the authority of FAR
6.302. In conjunction with CAV, Seiler has the required license to
manage and store the Army's fire control devices containing radioactive
tritium. Note 22. The proposed contract action is for supplies or
services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with
only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons
may identify their interest and capability to respond to the
requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request
for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within
forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic
ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be
considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to
compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is
solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received
will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining
whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Estimated issue date is
11 Aug 99. The solicitation will be issued electronicallly in
accordance with FAR 4.501 and 5.102(a)(7), therefore hardcopies will
not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on
or after the issue date by accessing the web site provided below. A
bidder's mailing list cannot be maintained. This solicitation
incorporates a Statement of Work for CAV and Storage, THERE IS NO TDP
