58 -- AN/SPQ-9B RADAR PROGRAM SOL N00024-99-R-5226 POC Contact Person, Contracting Officer, G. Michael Dodd, SEA 02522, (703) 602-8000 Ext 568 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole source contract with Norhtrop Grumman Norden Systems, Inc. (NGNS) of 65 Marcus Drive, Melville, NY 11747 for the fabrication of four (4) AN/SPQ-9B Lightweight Ordnance Installation (Ordalt) Radar Sets and the conversion of eight (8) APG-68 Transmitters provided as Government Furnished Property (GFE). The award is to also include installation material. NGNS is the original designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System. NGNS has provided the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System to the Government under the original development, low-rate-initial-production (LRIP) contract. NGNS has also entered into an 845 Other Transaction (OT) Agreement with the Government for the development of the Lightweight version of the AN/SPQ-9B Radar System. Therefore, no other firm possesses the technical expertise required to perform the work that will be required by the Government. This new contract will be issued pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
