38 -- SHALLOW DEPTH DRILL RIG SOL 99WRQQ0044 DUE 070299 POC Geri Fiore, 650-329-4179 The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Resources Division, Portland, OR, has a requirement for one each Shallow Depth Exploration Drill capable of auger (hollow-stem and conventional), rotary, and core drilling. The drill must be trailer-mounted and meet the following requirements. 1) Hydraulic tophead drive with maximum torque of at least 1,900 ft.lbs. and maximum RPM of at least 180 RPM. 2) Mast must have at least 74 inch net stroke and hydraulic motor feed with infinite down-feed speed control up to at least 30 feet per minute. Pullup and pulldown capacity must be at least 7,500 lbs. 3) Cathead hoist with hydraulic motor and minimum of 1,600 lb. capacity. 4) Hoisting winch with minimum capacity of 1,800 lbs. with hydraulic power and at least 50 feet of 5/16 inch diameter wire rope. 5) Drill must be mounted on a tandem axle trailer with gross capacity of at least 10,000 lbs. Trailer must include three hydraulic leveling jacks (one front, two rear), lights, electric brakes, tool racks for drill rods and augers, and a lockable tool box. 6) Tooling. Drill must include tooling for hollow-stem augering and soil sampling to a depth of 50 feet. Contractor shall provide technical specifications with quote. An RFQ will be issued and anticipated delivery is 60 days after receipt of an order. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the Agency.
