The construction consists of repairs, alterations and renovations to the 36,000 SF commissary (grocery store) facility at Moffett Field CA, located near San Jose CA. The facility will remain in operation and open to customers throughout the construction period, requiring careful phasing of the work and protection of customers and products from damage or degradation from the construction operations. The work includes but is not limited to replacing store display fixtures, refrigerated display cases and refrigeration systems. The interior of the store is to be remodeled, replacing interior floor-ceiling and wall finishes, signage, and decor in the sales area. The air conditioning systems are to be upgraded. The existing fire protection sprinkler and alarm systems, telephone system, and PA/background music system will be altered to suit the new work. Asbestos abatement is required. The magnitude of construction is between $1 Million and $5 Million. The Invitation for Bids package will be available on or about 6 July 1999. Bid guarantee is required.
