Contracting Officer, (304) 625-2441 The Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source contract with Harris
Corporation for operations, maintenance, and support services in
connection with the FBI's NCIC 2000 system. The sole-source is based on
the knowledge and technical expertise gained by Harris Corporation
during their development of the NCIC 2000 system. The contract will
include operating, maintaining, and supporting the
commercial-off-the-shelf hardware and software products as well as the
software code developed by Harris. The contract will also include
training of FBI personnel. The NCIC 2000 is a complex, fully
integrated, turnkey system. The contract negotiated will be for a
period of six months, with services to be performed at the FBI's
Criminal Justice Information Services Division Complex in Clarksburg,
West Virginia. Contractor personnel will be required to have security
clearances to perform the contract. Vendors able to meet this
requirement are invited to identify their interest and capabilityby
submitting a proposal to include technical capabilities, pricing, and
any other information which shows a bona fide ability to meet this
requirement within 45 days of this publication. If no affirmative
responses are received within this time to determine that a comparable
source more advantageous to the Government is available, negotiations
will take place with Harris Corporation on a sole-source basis.
