(202)942-4990 The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission intends to
issue a sole source contract to Lipton Corporate Child Care Centers,
Inc. located at 1233 20th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20036 for
emergency child care services. The center will provide child care when
arrangements are not available from the employee's regular caregiver.
The child care center shall provide a safe and secure environment that
is in compliance with Federal laws and regulations and local licensing
regulations, governing their operation. Proper staff must be
maintained that are trained to care for children who are 8 weeks to 12
years old, on an as needed basis, 5 days a week, Monday through
Friday. The center shall ensure that SEC employees will have the
ability to purchase spaces in the center to secure priority use by SEC
employees. The center shall also ensure a low cost, or user fee of
approximately $25 per child per day. 22. The proposed contract action
is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit
and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent
is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals
received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under
an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this
synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the
Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon
responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
