Z -- REMOVE/INSTALL CARPET TILE/COVE BASE AND MOVE ALL TYPES OF FURNITURE SOL N68931-99-Q-5636 DUE 063099 POC Lori Chestnut or Leah Guerry or Barbara Powell 843-764-7400 The Naval Weapons Station, Charleston, SC has the following requirement at the Charleston AFB, Building 59:(1) Requires a "MANDATORY SITE VISIT" (2) CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING OWN FIELD MEASUREMENTS. CARPET & COVE BASE REMOVAL, INSTALLATION, MOVE HEAVY FURNITURE AND SYSTEMS MODULAR FURNITURE BY JACKING/RAISING TO REMOVE AND INSERT CARPET TILE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS. CARPET TILE AND COVE BASE WILL GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIALS. REMOVE EXISTING GLUED DOWN CARPET/COVE BASE. THE EXISTING CARPET/COVE BASE THAT IS REMOVED BECOMES THE PROPERTY OF THE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL BE DISPOSED OF PROPERLY OFF CHARLESTON AIR FORCE BASE. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL AL VINYL EDGING/TRANSITION STRIPS TO BE USED IN ALL AREAS WHERE FLOOR COVERING MATERIAL CHANGES OR AT TERMINATION EDGES OF CARPET WILL MATCH THE GFM COVE BASE. (3)IF THE CONTRACTOR DOES NOT SHOW PROOF OF A SITE VISIT, HIS BID WILL BE REJECTED." TO SCHEDULE SITE VISIT YOU MUST CONTACT THE CONTRACT SURVEILLANCE REP(JOHN LINDSEYAT 843-764-7049 EXT. 10). THE CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING UP ON A DAILY BASIS. (4)GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES WILL REMOVE/REINSTALL ALL COMPUTER RELATED EQUIPMENT, CLEAR OFF ALL DESKS, BOOK SHELVES AND WORK AREAS; DESKS AND FILING CABINETS WILL BE EMPTIED IF REQUIRED IN ORDER FOR CONTRACTOR TO MOVE THEM. THE PERMANENT PARTITIONS WILL REMAIN IN PLACE. THE NEW CARPET WILL BUTT UP TO THE PARTITIONS. (5) THE GOVERNMENT WILL FURNISH 1750 SQUARE YARDS OF CARPET TILE AND AND 3000 LF OF 4" COVE BASE FOLLOWING THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN QUANTITY OF COVE BASE NEEDED DURING SITE VISIT. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OWN FIELD MEASUREMENTS. (6)YOU MAY REQUEST A COPY OF RFQ PACKAGE AFTER 30 JUNE 1999 AND CLOSING DATE OF THIS RFQ WILL BE 15 JULY 1999 BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS 4:00 PM.(7) YOU MUST PROVIDE REFERENCES: NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER WITH YOUR RFQ PACKAGE. BACKGROUND CHECKS WILL BE MADE. (8)A PAYMENT BOND IS REQUIRED 50% OF YOUR BID AMOUNT, 3 DAYS AFTER AWARD. IF YOU DO HAVE WITHIN THIS TIME PERIOD, YOUR BID WILL BE REJECTED.
