Z -- CHICAGO SHORELINE PROTECTION PROJECT-51ST STREET TO 54TH STREET REVETMENT RECONSTRUCTION DUE 070999 POC Technical/Contractual POC: Eddie Lance (312) 744-9768 US Army Engineer District, Chicago, Corps of Engineers, 111 North Canal Street, Chicago, IL 60606-7206 The work for the 51st Street to 54th Street Revetment Construction generally consists of furnishing all materials, labor, tools and equipment required to: excavate and demolish portions of the existing timber pile, concrete and stone revetment; construct a new double wall steel sheet pile bulkhead with walers, tie-rods, anchors and connections about 40 to 100 feet lakeward of the existing deteriorated revetment; fill the space between the new sheet pile walls with compacted stone and rubble fill; install H-piles to support the new concrete slab; fill the area between the new structure and the existing revetment; construct new reinforced concrete slabs, steps and wave deflectors; furnish and place new toe stone lakeward of the new sheet pile; construct miscellaneous concrete structures; and perform all other appurtenant and collateral work.
