Shewmaker, 816-426-7129, ext. 221 Sources Sought. The U.S. Department
of Commerce, NOAA intends to procure up to five (5) RVP-7 Receiver and
Signal Processor radar subsystems for the upgrade of the Doppler
Weather Radar systems. The Doppler Radar systems are installed in the
two WP-3D NOAA aircrafts located at the Aircraft Operation Center in
Tampa, Florida. These subsystems will be used to replace the SIGMET
Pulse Pair Processor subsystem currently installed. The acquisition of
these radar subsystems shall proceed in two phases. The first phase is
the acquisition of one (1) complete radar subsystem. In the second
phase, the Government may exercise the option to purchase up to four
(4) additional RVP-7 subsystems to complete the installation on both
aircraft. Sigmet Radar Data Systems is the only known source of supply
for this item. Sigmet was the manufacturer of the original radar
digital signal processor subsystem. The intended procurement is for
supplies for which the Government intends to acquire from one
manufacturer under the authority of 41USC253 (c)(1). The Government
knows of only one source authorized to provide the items identified.
This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation
available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit
proposals on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. All
interested parties must respond to this notice within 15 calendar days
of this announcement. Requests received after this date will not be
considered. In addition, all responses to this announcement must
include the following: 1) Contractor name and phone number, 2) A brief
statement detailing your experience in manufacturing RVP-7 radar
receiver/processors, 3) A list of the names and phone numbers of three
references whom you have provided like or similar items to, contract
numbers if any. Failure to provide all the information identified above
when requesting a copy of the Solicitation will be considered
non-responsive to the requirements of this announcement and a copy of
the solicitation will not beprovided. All requests must be in writing.
