COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 14,1999 PSA#2366DEVELOPMENTS AT NIST Researchers at the National Institute of Standards
and Technology (NIST) have developed a number of new devices and
methods involving a variety of technologies. In certain cases, other
parties have participated in the development of these technologies.
NIST may enter into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement
(CRADA) with interested parties to perform further research on the
invention for purposes of commercialization. NIST may grant CRADA
Partners an option to negotiate for exclusive licenses to any jointly
owned inventions which arise from the CRADA as well as an option to
negotiate for exclusive royalty-bearing licenses for NIST employee
inventions which arise from the CRADA. Anyone interested in the further
development of any of these technologies or in applying for a license
to commercialize these technologies shall send a written request for
further information, referencing the NIST Docket Number and Title, to:

action or a grant. NIST DOCKET NUMBER: 98-026PA, Title: Bipolar
Waveform Generation in Josephson Digital-to-Analog Converters,
Description: An accurate bipolar voltage source for ac and dc
metrology, based on the quantized pulses of Josephson junctions has
been developed. The output voltage is a factor of 4 to 6 higher than
the amplitude of previous unipolar waveforms; this is achieved by
generating bipolar waveforms where arrays of junctions are biased with
both a broadband two-level digital code and a sinusoidal frequency.
Bipolar kilohertz frequency waveforms have been demonstrated with peak
amplitude up to plus or minus 18 mV and quantization noise power 10
orders of magnitude below the fundamental frequency. WEB: NIST
