MANAGED CARE SUPPORT SERVICES TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) is approaching the release of the next generation of Managed Care Support contracts. Industry representatives, along with TRICARE beneficiary organizations, were instrumental in the development of the initial request for proposal (RFP) approximately one year ago. The program has changed since that time. The next generation of Managed Care Support contracts will be performance based, allowing offerors to propose their best practices in the delivery of health care and administrative services to TRICARE beneficiaries and Military Treatment Facility commanders. This synopsis serves as notice that an updated DRAFT request for proposals will be released to the TMA world wide wide site at www.tricare.osd.mil/ on or about June 9, 1999. Interested parties are encouraged to review the documents and submit comments to the TMA forum located on the TRICARE website. Instructions to get to the RFP from the TRICARE website are as follows: (1) click on TRICARE Administration (from the choices listed on the left; (2) click on Contracting (from the choices listed under TRICARE Administration); (3) click on Contracting again (from the choices listed on the left); and (4) click on Solicitations. You are requested to submit comments as soon as possible, but not later than August 2, 1999, to ensure the Government has the opportunity to fully consider those comments prior to issuance of the RFP.
