Engraving and Printing (BEP) is soliciting quotes for labor and
materials to install two (2) complete _620 series_ doors and two (2)
complete fenestrated rolling _610 series_ doors as manufactured by
overhead door Corp or equal. Location of work to be the entrance and
exit of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing Annex Garage, 14th & C
Street S W. Washington, D C. SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ENTRANCE AND EXIT
DOORS, ANNEX LOADING DOCK. ARE AS FOLLOWS: ENTRANCE DOORS: #1 Rolling
_620 series door or equal door will be interior mounted with left hand
interior mounted operator. #2 Fenestrated rolling _610 series_ doors
or equal, door will be exterior mounted with a right hand interior
mounted through the wall operator. EXIT DOORS: #1. Rolling _620 series_
door or equal, door will be interior mounted with right hand interior
mounted operator. #2 Fenestrated rolling _610 series_ or equal, door
will be exterior mounted with a left-hand interior mounted through the
wall operator. SPECIFICATIONS: 2 EA ROLLING _620 SERIES OR EQUAL
DOORS: Door slats shall be 18 gage galvanized steel with continuous end
locks, each door shall have two (2) slats at eye level fenestrated and
covered with Plexiglas, each door to be equipped with steel angle
weather stripped jamb guides and double steel angle weather seal bottom
bar, guides and bar shall be a minimum 14_ thick steel angle. Bottom
bar is not to be fitted with an electric reversing safety edge. All
ferrous surfaces, except working machinery parts and galvanized
surfaces shall have a coat of rust-inhibiting primer; each door
barrel-spring assembly must have 100,000 cycle springs and heavy-duty
bearings. Motor operation shall be by a 1hp, 208-volt, 3 phase,
60-cycle operator, and be equipped with a chain back up. Exact door
sizes and clearances shall be determined by on site inspection by
contractor prior to fabrication and installation, it is also required
that the contractor upon installation of the above doors provide the
B.E.P. with one (1) complete barrel-spring assembly with 100,000 cycle
springs to fit each of the above doors and fifty (50) replacement door
slats with appropriate # of end locks for each door, material to be
stored by B.E.P. for future repairs and or replacement. SPECIFICATIONS;
2EA _610 SERIES_ OR EQUAL DOORS: Door slats shall be 18 gage galvanized
steel with continuous end locks, each door shall be completely
fenestrated (without Plexiglas covers), except the bottom 2_0_, which
shall solid door slats. Each door to be equipped with steel an angle
jamb guides and double steel angle bottom bar, guides and bar shall be
a minimum 14_ thick steel angle, a weather proof cover shall be
installed as to cover all exterior moving parts. All ferrous surfaces
except working machinery parts and galvanized surfaces shall have a
coat of rust-inhibiting primer, the barrel-spring assembly for each
door must have 100,000 cycle springs and heavy duty bearings, motor
operation shall be by a 1hp-208 volt 3phase, 60 cycle operator, with a
chain backup. Exact door sizes shall be determined by on-site
inspection by the contractor prior to fabrication and installation, it
is also requested that the contractor upon the installation of the of
the above doors provide the B.E.P. with one (1) barrel-spring assembly
with 100,000 cycle springs to fit each of the above doors and fifty
(50) ea replacement fenestrated door slats with the appropriate number
of end locks for each door, materials to be stored by B.E.P. for
future repairs and or replacement. GENERAL NOTES FOR ALL DOORS:
Existing doors shall be removed and disposed of by the contractor, all
job site work removal and installation must begin no earlier than 7:00
AM and no later than 8:00 AM on Saturday and continue until the one set
of doors is completely installed prior to leaving the job site for
Security purposes. Only one set of doors is to be installed per
weekend. The contractor is to notify B.E.P a minimum of 5 days prior to
planned installation date, the B.E.P upon notification of planned
installation, will notify installer the order in which the doors
entrance and exit will be installed. The contractor will supply B.E.P
with 2-copy ea of repair and replacement parts manuals for the newly
installed doors. All electrical wiring to be done by B.E.P personnel.
Interior doors will be installed with metal door curtain covers.
Exterior doors and exterior drive mechanisms will be installed with
metal weatherproof covers. RFQ 19-97 must be submitted in writing to
the above address, or facsimile to (202) 874-3135. All responsible
small business sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered,
quotes will be accepted on the first day after publication of the
notices and a purchase order will be awarded after receipt of quotes.
