The facility is an 11-story structure, approximately 34.4 meters in height, with an area of approximately 750 square meters. The proposed tower will be constructed on the flight line of Tyndall Air Force Base near the existing tower. The demolition of the existing tower (Building 217) as well as minor modifications to Building 216 are included in the scope of work. Asbestos-containing material in Building 217 will be abated as a part of this contract. Construction of the proposed tower consists of structural precast concrete walls, slabs and beams; split face concrete masonry unit (cmu) veneer panels; steel roof framing system, metal studs, gypsum board, paint, carpet, acoustical tile, glazing, HVAC and electrical systems. Bid documents are available on or about 18 June 1999. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Requests for plans and specifications shall indicate in writing whether firm will bid as a prime contractor or a subcontractor. Unrestricted. All responsible sources maysubmit a bid, which shall be considered. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive one CD-ROM. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium.
