SM-ALC/LHR is requesting information from interested industry parties about a potential electronic warfare (EW) training requirement for Radar Warning Receiver Low Cost Training Equipment (RWRLTE). This trainer will satisfy EW training requirements of combat aircrews in a realistic threat environment. The threshold requirement for RWRLTE is a low-cost threat simulator with adequate strength and fidelity. It must be recognized as a threat radar by RWRs and other threat detection systems installed on CAF aircraft at slant ranges representative of short range, radar-guided surface-to-air missiles and anti-aircraft artillery systems. RWRLTE shall be a Commercial Non-Developmental Item. It will support the EW training requirements of Combat Air Force aircraft equipped with RWR equipment and other USAF aircraft equipped with similar RWR equipment. An official Request for Information (RFI) with more detailed information has been prepared and is available upon request.
