The purchase order will not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. Requirement is to relocate the existing MCI aerial cable between the MCI node (Arlington VA) and the MCI FiberMux equipment at DISA Headquarters (Arlington VA). Relocation is to provide a 100% underground path with fiber optic cable to assure diversity and continuity of communications services. The existing aerial cable and associated equipment are owned and maintained exclusively by MCI Worldcom and only MCI can accomplish the relocation/upgrade of the communications cable.
