Department of Veterans Affairs-Austin Automation Center (VA-AAC) is
seeking sources with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products
which will manage the billing, collections, and claims process
activities for the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). The purpose of
this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine the feasibility of
acquiring a COTS solution. A two-step process is anticipated. First,
respondents to this announcement will be provided a system
functionality survey by mail or in electronic format via email. Second,
if this RFI results in COTS software applications meeting the minimum
needs of VA, then the information obtained through the results of this
announcement will be used to pre-qualify suppliers by inviting them to
participate in controlled product demonstrations. Only the firms
selected from the results of product demonstrations will participate in
any formal Request for Proposal (RFP). Should sources for the financial
activities be found, the VA will proceed with the RFP process without
any further announcement in the Commerce Business Daily. To receive a
copy of the system functionality survey, please send requests to
VA-AAC, Attn: Mr. William Cox, Contracts Section (381), 1615 Woodward
St., Austin, TX 78772, or send an email request to
william.cox@mail.va.gov. VA-AAC will accept requests for the survey
until June 4, 1999. Any questions should be directed to Mr. Cox at
512-326-6241. VA-AAC does not intend to award a contract on the basis
of this request for information or otherwise pay for the information
solicited. Posted 05/24/99 (W-SN334715). (0144) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0020 19990526\D-0004.SOL)
