Dunn, Contract Specialist, (202) 324-5790 The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a sole source, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) fixed price contract for one (1) base year plus four (4) additional option years to NewsEdge, 80 Blanchard Road, Burlington, MA 01803, to provide on-line database news media information retrieval services to FBI Headquarters. This service integrates live "real time" news wire feeds from major commercial news sources on a broad variety of domestic and international topics that updates news stories, alerts users to breaking news of interest, and permits the establishment of user profiles to automatically identify and sort stories on preselected topics. The FBI will provide the supporting computer hardware (e. g. server, processor, and storage capacity). The requirement consists of the following: (1) 20 each NewsEdge Insight 4.1; (2) 1 each NewsEdge Live 4.0; (3) 3 each NewsEdge Live 4.0 Lic; (4) 20 each AP DataA/CrimeWorldstream feed; (5) 20 each AP/FDCH Capitol Transcripts feed; and(6) 20 each Reuters World Service feed. Based on market research conducted, it has been determined that NewsEdge is the only source that fully meets the FBI's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within (15) calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures authorized by the Test Program. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 7383, and the size standard is $5 million dollars.
