rpayne@nml10.med.navy.mil. The Naval Medical Logistics Command has a
requirement to identify potential sources to provide immunoassay test
reagent for 6-acetylmorphine (6-AM). The reagent shall be for the
initial (screen) immunoassay for the semi-qualitative detection
specifically of 6-AM in urine from heroin ingestion. Cross reactivity
of the reagent for codeine, morphine, oxycodone, oxymorphone,
hydrocodone, hydromorphone, is not desired. The reagent must be
sensitive to discriminate the presence of 6-AM present at a
concentration of 10 ng/ml in urine. The reagent must be compatible for
use with the Olympus AU800 automated drug screening equipment, and
must be applicable without modification of the equipment. The reagent
must be compatible with optimal throughput of the AU800 and must not
interfere with the optimum performance of other immunoassay procedures
in the military laboratories. Be advised that this is not a request
for the submission of offers or proposals; no contract award will be
made as a result of this notice. Responses shall include relative
information to provide the 6-AM reagent sought. Immunoassay kits are
medical devices which require FDA approval to market. Responses shall
indicate FDA compliance or the estimated lead time required to obtain
FDA approval. Responses to this sources sought notice shall be
submitted no later than 30 days after the date of this notice, to Naval
