the contract representative, Brooks_Renee@hq.navsea.navy.mil. The Naval
Sea Systems Command intends to negotiate a contract with Raytheon
Systems Company, Naval and Maritime Systems, 6500 Harbour Heights
Parkway, Mukilteo, WA 98275-4844 for the MK54 Mod 0 Torpedo Program.
This contract action will be only for the first year of the Low Rate
Initial Production (LRIP) phase of the MK54 Mod 0 Lightweight Hybrid
Torpedo (LHT) program, including associated spares, components,
containers, and services. The MK54 Torpedo is a modular upgrade to the
USN lightweight torpedo inventory, combining existing MK46
capabilities with proven technologies from subsystems of the MK50 and
MK48 ADCAP torpedoes, and commercial off-the-shelf processor components
using an open system architecture. The Navy intends to procure 23 MK54
Mod 0 units in LRIP I. Raytheon is the sole developer of the MK54 Mod
0 Torpedo, and is therefore the only source with the requisite
knowledge, experience, and tooling to produce the LRIP I units within
the program's delivery and performance requirements. Parties interested
in subcontracting opportunities should contact Raytheon directly. See
numbered Notes 22 and 26. Posted 05/18/99 (W-SN332715). (0138) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0163 19990520\13-0002.SOL)
