Commission (USIBWC) has various types of mercury containing manometers
and excess liquid mercury generated from the operation and maintenance
of its flow metering stations along the U.S. Mexico border. Tables of
an inventory of the estimated quantites of mercury and mercury
contaminated material will be provided with the Request for Quotation.
Vendor shall properly package, label, load/unload, transport and
dispose and/or recycle mercury and mercury-contaminated materials as
stated in Scope of Work, Section B of Request for Quotation. Vendor
shall provide all labor, materials, and personal-protective equipment
and training for performing the work required. Vendor shall be
responsible for compliance of all Federal, State, and local regulations
governing packaging, labeling, placarding, handling, transporting, and
disposing and/or recycling of mercury and mercury-contaminated waste.
This includes the proper completion of all manifests and land-ban
notices as applicable. The vendor shall also follow proper safety and
health precautions to protect the workers, the public, and the property
of others. The vendor shall be responsible for the cleanup and disposal
of any material spilled or caused to be spilled by the vendor.
Approximate date for issuance of RFQ is June 14, 1999. This requirement
