Weiss, 301-443-6677 The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is
soliciting proposals from qualified organizations concerning the
following: The contractor shall provide NIDA with communications
support services primarily through operation of exhibits and media
outreach programs to assist the Public Information and Liaison Branch
(PILB) in its efforts to disseminate the results of drug abuse
research. For the NIDA exhibits program, the Contractor shall make all
arrangements for NIDA exhibits to travel to some 40 conferences a
year, including reservations for space, paperwork, amassing items to
ship, preparing supporting forms and documents, shipping materials to
and from conferences, setting up exhibits and staffing exhibit booth
during conferences, and maintaining and storing NIDA exhibits and
support materials. For media outreach, the Contractor shall develop
action plans to reach media, maintain media lists, execute plans to
obtain media coverage of NIDA news, develop video b-roll or radio
actualities, write news releases, fact sheets and media advisories,
create graphics visuals, send out materials to the media, follow up
calls to media to enhance placement opportunities, and other services
necessary to implement the program. NIDA anticipates that a 3-year cost
reimbursement type contract with two, one year options will result from
this procurement. RFP No. N01DA-9-2067 will be available electronically

Please note that the RFP for this acquisition will be streamlined to
include only the Work Statement, Deliverables and Reporting
Requirements, Special Requirements and Mandatory Qualifications,
Technical Evaluation Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation
Instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer
will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Following proposal
submission and the initial review process, offerors comprising the
competitive rangemay be requested to provide additional documentation
to the Contracting Officer. Response to the RFP will be due on or about
June 24, 1999. This acquisition is being offered for competition
limited to eligible 8(a) concerns. This acquisition is offered under
