The Basic Research Laboratory, Division of Basic Sciences, National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, is recompeting a project for providing animal facilities and conducting experiments and tests. Animals will include non-human primates, mice (SCID and nude), rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and goats. The following mandatory qualification criterion must be met: (1) Offerors must have or provide evidence that they can establish biocontainment facilities (BL2 with BL3 practices) to conduct work with human and non-human primate retroviruses, adenoviruses, and herpes viruses,and (2) Offerors must be able to supply fresh, viable cells and biologically active purified proteins to the Government within one hour after harvest or preparation. Offerors must be able to receive from the Government within one hour after preparation fresh, viable cells, or live infectious inocula. All responsible offerors will be considered. It is anticipated that a single cost reimbursement, incrementally funded, completion type contract will be awarded for a base period of one year plus four option periods of one year each. The solicitation is scheduled for electronic release approximately May 26, 1999. The proposals will be due approximately 30 days after the actual date of RFP issuance.
