U.S. Army intends to procure Thirty Five (35) Speedometer Interface
Units (SIU) on a non-competitive, negotiated Firm-Fixed-Price basis
with Honeywell Inc., Military Avionics, 133350 US Hwy 19N, Clearwater,
FL 34624-7290. Honeywell is the original manufacturer of the Modular
Azimuth Positioning System (MAPS) unit (used with the FIREFINDER
Systems) and has designed a new electronic interface called the
Speedometer Interface Unit (SIU), which will interface with the new
electronic Transmission and Speedometer. The contractor is to modify an
existing SIU (model number DG9701A) to make it compatible with the
Army's Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV), specifically the 2
1/2 ton trucks (models M1078 and M1080), and 5 ton trucks (models M1083
and M1092). The contractor shall deliver one SIU prototype unit to
demonstrate successful interface with the FMTV vehicle and operational
with the MAPS system. The contractor shall than produce and deliver
the remaining thirty-four (34) SIU units. This acquisition is being
accomplished in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
Subpart 12.204 and FAR 13.501. The procurement is not set aside for any
special category or business. However, all responsible sources may
submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The
Solicitation and Statement of Work (SOW) can be obtained by accessing
the CECOM Business Opportunity Page, which was established to provide
electronic transmittal of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Invitation
for Bids (IFBs) from Government to Industry. All interested parties
wishing to do business with CECOM are invited to access and receive
data from the CECOM Business Opportunities Page at
http://abop.monmouth.army.mil. Upon accessing this web page you will
need to register and select your password in order to submit a proposal
at the time and place specified in the solicitation. The Small Business
