NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from IMO PUMP; WE ARE INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF THE HIGH PRESSURE COOLING WATER SYSTEM IN ASCR BY ADDING AN ADDITIONAL PUMP. THE PUMP SPECIFIED IS AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF THE EXISTING PUMPS IN THE FACILITY. THE FACILITY PIPING WAS INSTALLED WITH PROVISIONS TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL PUMP. GETTING AN IMO PUMP THAT IS AN EXACT DUPLICATE WILL RESULT IN MAINTAINING THE STANDARDIZING OF ALL PUMPS, MINIMIZING THE INSTALLATION COSTS, AND OPTIMIZING THE MAINTAINANCE SINCE ALL PUMP PARTS WILL BE INTERCHANGEABLE AND SPARE PARTS WILL BE MINIMIZED. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
