Office for Tennessee (USPFO for TN) has a requirement to Repair Fire
Deficiencies, Buildings 406, 408, and 410, for the Tennessee Air
National Guard at McGhee Tyson Airport, Knoxville, TN. Contractor shall
provide labor, materials, equipment, and services, as required by the
contract, specifications and drawings, and perform work necessary for
the complete retrofit/installation of a wet pipe fire protection
sprinkler system in Buildings 406, 408, and 410. These buildings are
dormitories which vary in height above ground between two and three
stories. Building 406 is a two story and a three story building
connected with exterior walkways and central stair tower. Total gross
squiare footage is 25,000. Building 408 is two (2) three-story
buildings connected with exterior walkways and a central stair tower.
Total gross square footage is 30,000. Building 410 is one (1)
three-story building and two (2) two-story buildings, all connected
with exteroir walkways and centralstair towers . Total gross square
footage is 35,000. All buildings are currently occupied. The
installation of the sprinkler systems will be phased so that portions
of the buildings can be vacated to minimize interference between
construction work and building occupants. New construction work will
include the construction of vertical chases on each floor to enclose
piping. Sprinkler piping will be installed above existing ceilings, and
sprinkler heads will be semi-recessed in ceiling. Some sprinkler heads
will be low profile type wall mounted in some areas. Installation of
pumps, controls, alarms, and all valves will be required. Contractor
will be required to run piping above ceilings so as not to interfere
with equipment accessibility. Testing of system will be required.
Estimated cost of construction is between $500,000.00 and
$1,000,000.00. A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $50.00,
certified check or money order (NO COMPANY CHECKS), made payable to
"U.S. Treasury", is required. Send deposit to official address at top

issued 060399. The procurement is unrestricted, open to large as well
as small businesses. The firm awarded this contract (or any DoD
