Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials to deliver approx 2000 tons of spawning gravel near Lewiston, California, where the gravel will be dumped over the streambank into the Trinity River. The Contractor shall provide a rubber-tired front-end-loader which will move the gravel out into the river. As further truck loads are delivered the loader shall begin forming a fan shaped terrace approx. 8 ft above the water surface out into the river channel, continually expanding this terrace to approx. 1/4 the width of the wetted channel. At this point the river is constricted to where any new gravels are carried away by the current. The terrace will be approx. 15 feet wide (upstream/downstream) and 20 feet into the river channel.
